Welcome to the Team London volunteer portal!
Team London know that volunteering helps bring people from different backgrounds and communities together, and makes London a healthier, happier and more unified city.
Team London Ambassadors and Major Events Volunteers are two of our programmes which harness this unique value of volunteering.
Team London Ambassadors
Known as London’s ‘friendly face’, Team London Ambassadors show the world the best we have to offer. No previous experience is necessary, and we welcome volunteers from all walks of life. If you are self-motivated, good with people and enthusiastic about this great city, then we’d love to hear from you.
An impressive 600 volunteers take part in the programme each year, dedicating 15,000 hours at nine visitor hot spots for the busiest weeks of the summer. 97% of visitors from 2018 were more likely to recommend London as a place to visit after interacting with an Ambassador.
If you love London and want to help others enjoy it too, then this is the perfect role for you.
Major sporting and cultural events
Our Major Events Volunteer Programme supports large scale sport, music, arts and cultural events in London by providing volunteers who share their knowledge, pride and enthusiasm on behalf of the Mayor of London. These volunteers are part of some truly unique and exciting experiences.
Since 2012 these have included Lumiere London, Prudential Ride London, Great Fire 350, the London Marathon and the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships and IAAF World Championships.
If you want to be involved in memorable events, make friends along the way, and be a part of what makes London so great to visit, then become a Major Event Volunteer.
“London is blessed with museums, sporting venues, theatres and tourist attractions and I am incredibly proud of what we have to offer. In my role as Mayor, I will work to capitalise upon these cultural riches and grow our tourist industry. The warm welcome you give to visitors from the rest of the UK and the world will help me to achieve this.”
